  • Richard Roland (Director) This is Richard’s 7th production at the Barn Playhouse, having directed Thoroughly Modern Millie, Hairspray, Chicago, Ragtime, Brigadoon, and The Secret Garden here! Born and raised in NYC, he appeared in several Broadway and off-Broadway shows, national tours, regional productions, television dramas, soaps, and commercials. Favorite shows he’s directed: Avenue Q, …Spelling Bee, Little Shop of Horrors, 39 Steps, 110 in the Shade, Urinetown, Barefoot in the Park, God of Carnage, Steel Magnolias, and Forever Plaid. He heads the B.F.A. in Musical Theatre program at Indiana University where he directs Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 this fall, followed by Elf at Indiana’s Constellation (née Cardinal) Stage. BFA Theatre: Denison University; MFA Directing: Penn State. Proud member of SDC, AEA, and SAG/AFTRA. He’s wanted to direct this ever since playing Georg in college!     Robbie Cowan (Season Music Supervisor, Music Director She Loves Me and Footloose) returns to the Barn for his 7th season. His many Barn Playhouse productions have earned New Hampshire Theater Awards for Best Production, Best Music Direction, and the prestigious Moss Hart award for Excellence in New England Theater in two consecutive years. He has performed in 49 states (Hawaii remains elusive) on national tours including Bullets Over Broadway, Shrek, Elf, Damn Yankees, and others, as well as at some of the country's best loved regional theaters including Northern Stage and Ogunquit Playhouse. The original comedy revue which he created and produced, 4 Guys Who Sing, premiered at the Barn and has since been seen worldwide aboard luxury cruise ships.     Natalie Wisdom (Choreographer) is beyond thrilled to be back at the Barn Playhouse, having previously choreographed productions of Little Women (2018), Pajama Game (2019), and Shining On: Broadway and the Barn Playhouse (2021). Other choreography credits include Freaky Friday at the Williams Street Rep, as well as Sister Act, Guys and Dolls, and Anything Goes in Concert at New York University, Steinhardt. Natalie served as Adjunct Musical Theatre Dance Instructor at NYU for two academic years and has been teaching dance for over fifteen years. Selected performing credits include the Broadway productions of Billy Elliot and Groundhog Day, as well as the National Tours of Matilda and Billy Elliot (Dance Captain). Natalie is currently in the cast of the First National Tour of Frozen, performing in cities across the U.S. Huge thanks to Keith and Elliott for another wonderful creative opportunity!

    Becky Bodurtha (Costume Designer) is so delighted to be back at the Barn Playhouse! Barn credits include Catch Me if You Can, 42 Street, A Little Night Music, Gypsy, The Producers and Thoroughly Modern Millie, Recent credits include Paper Dreams of Harry Chin (San Francisco Playhouse), Drowning in Cairo (Potrero Stage), Felix Starro (Theatre Ma-Yi), Open (The Tank), and 1000 Nights and One Day (Prospect Theatre Company. Other credits include Constellations (Wilma), The Strangest (East 4th Street), Among the Dead (Theatre Ma-Yi) Passover (Cherry Lane), The Wong Kids in the Secret of the Space Chupacabra, Go! (Theatre Ma-Yi), and This Lingering Life (HERE Arts). International credits include Anna in the Tropics (Repertory Philippines), Movement for Humanity and Africa’s Hope for the Ubumuntu Festival in Kigali, Rwanda. Becky is the resident costume designer for Vermont Shakespeare Festival where she recently designed Taming of the Shrew and Julius Caesar.     Elzi Thomas (Associate Costume Designer) is a costume designer currently studying theater making at Stanford University. This year, she designed Stanford’s annual Gaieties, a student choreographed dance show Ricochet, and was assistant costume designer on A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This is Elzi’s debut production at the Barn Playhouse, and she is incredibly excited to see this show come together!

    Vincent Gunn (Scenic Designer) is thrilled to be returning to the Barn Playhouse where he designed Sylvia and Murder for Two and served as the scenic charge artist for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Select Design credits: Legally Blonde (Immaculate Heart Academy), Radium Girls (Metropolitan Playhouse), The Drowsy Chaperone (St. Bart’s Players), The Yellow Wallpaper (IRT Theater). Vincent has assisted designers at venues such as the New York Philharmonic, Jazz at Lincoln Center, BAM Fischer, Roundabout Blackbox and Irish Repertory Theatre.     Chris Hanian (They/Them) (Master Electrician/Lighting Designer) is beyond thrilled to return for the 90th season. This is their 3rd season at the playhouse as acting master electrician they are also a lighting designer for She Loves Me. Chris was born and raised in the luscious corn fields of Des Moines, IA. They spent most of their days looking at lights and the sun until one day they figured out you're supposed to point them on stage. They obtained their B.A. from University of Northern Iowa with a focus in Theatre: Design and Production. This Fall they will be off to pursue their MFA at The University of Memphis for Theatre: Design and Production. Past Credits include: Always, Patsy Cline at The New London Barn Playhouse, The world premiere of Escaping the Labyrinth at the Des Moines Playhouse.

    John “JP” Pollard (Production Stage Manager) joins New London Barn directly from the Musical Theatre West production of SPAMILTON. Other previous credits: An Act of God, starring Sean Hayes (LA/SF), The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in The Universe starring Lily Tomlin (SF), Carrie: The Musical Experience (LA), Jersey Boys - 2nd National Tour, Nice Work If You Can Get It, starring Sally Struthers, and Anything Goes starring Sally Struthers and Andrea McArdle, both at the Ogunquit Playhouse. Previous resident positions: Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ, The Barter Theatre in Abingdon, VA, and Grease - Das Musical touring Germany and Switzerland, Gateway Theatre, Bellport, NY. In a previous lifetime, JP served as personal assistant to Sarah Jessica Parker. Proud Equity member since 1983.

    Solomon Abang (Trumpet) Deeply rooted in a wide range of musical genres, Solomon Temitope Abang has surfaced as a promising trumpeter, educator, composer, and vocalist. Born and raised in Nigeria, Solomon has been actively engaged for over a decade as a performer, educator, and composer with notable awards to his name. In 2020, Solomon was the awardee of the prestigious international David Baker Scholarship Award, presented by the Jazz Education Network in New Orleans. A recent music performance graduate from the University of Louisiana, Monroe, Solomon will begin his Master of Music program in trumpet performance at the internationally renowned Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in the fall of 2022.

    Jessica Gehring- she/her (Violin) is a violinist and teacher based in the NYC city area. Originally from Nashville, TN, Jessica is trained in a variety of styles such as Classical, Bluegrass, Celtic and Jazz. She holds a BM in Violin Performance from Lawrence Conservatory where she studied with Dr. Samantha George, and is currently completing her MM in Violin Performance at NYU Steinhardt in the studio of Giora Schmidt and the viola studio of Stephanie Baer. Jessica enjoys a diverse freelancing career, having played at venues such as The Schermerhorn Symhpony Center, the Dimenna Center and the Apollo Theater alongside groups including the Nashville Symphony, the Chelsea Symphony, and the American Composers Orchestra. She is also second violin of the Skirball Quartet, who perform at premier events throughout the city. Over her career, Jessica has played the violin in over 40 musical productions, and is very excited to be working on She Loves Me with the New London Barn Playhouse for the first time!

    Sean Millman, Ph.D. (Drums) is a dynamic, polished, and cerebral musician active as performer, scholar, arranger, and coach. Currently teaching percussion for Missouri Southern State University, he holds a Ph.D. in Percussion from NYU, and Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the University of Florida. He chairs the Percussive Arts Society Scholarly Research committee, and has presented research to multiple conferences, conventions, and publications. A veteran of the NYC theatre scene, Sean has performed at the SoHo Playhouse, Gallery Players, and Secret Theatre, along with National Sawdust, Symphony Space, and Carnegie Hall. Past performed shows include Next to Normal, Cabaret, Urinetown, Chess, Chicago, Les Miserables, Assassins, Into the Woods, and Damn Yankees. Outside the theatre, Sean performs with symphonies, bar bands, and the new-music duo Ephemera. Dr. Millman endorses Vic Firth, Black Swamp, and Zildjian.

    Lucas Phillips (Bass) is a prize-winning bassist, composer, and arranger from Boston. He performs throughout the Northeast and is a staple of the Boston jazz scene.

    Zachary Thompson (Reeds) Throughout his whole life Zachary has been involved with music. Ever since he picked up the Recorder in 3rd grade he knew it was what he wanted to do. He started playing clarinet in middle school with saxophone shortly after and eventually added all the other woodwinds to his arsenal by high school and college. Zachary studied Clarinet Performance at Shenandoah Conservatory under Garrick Zoster. He currently works as a Woodwinds Sales and Repair Specialist at Foxes Music Company in Falls Church, VA. When he's not playing music he enjoys playing video games and practicing archery.

  • Raymond Sage (Mr. Maraczek) appeared in the Broadway and national touring productions of Camelot, Beauty and the Beast, and Titanic, as well as in regional theatres across the country, such as Pennsylvania Center Stage, Paper Mill Playhouse, Sacramento Theatre Company, and Dallas Summer Musicals. In London Raymond starred as Ludie in the European premiere of the Horton Foote classic Trip to Bountiful at the Courtyard Theatre and at the Old Vic Tunnels as Olsen in the O’Neill Sea Plays. He has made television appearances on Late Night with David Letterman, The Howie Mandel Show, and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Sage has written and performed one-person show Seeking Flight,based on the works of the great American playwright, Eugene O’Neill and The Muir Project, based on the life of famed naturalist and writer John Muir. Professor Sage is the head of graduate studies in musical theatre voice pedagogy and a member of the voice faculty at Penn State University.     Gilbert L. Bailey II (Georg), is excited to be making his New London Barn Playhouse debut. Before COVID-19 struck he was an original company member of Beetlejuice The Musical. Other Broadway credits include the original company of A Bronx Tale, and The Book of Mormon. He’d be a mess without the constant love and support of his wife, Jessie Hooker-Bailey, and their beautiful puppy, Jade.     Scott Sweatt (Ladislav Sipos) is grateful to be back at the Barn for another summer and elated to be a part of this first summer at the New New London Barn Playhouse thanks to Keith and Elliott! Previous NLBP credits include: Anything Goes, The Odd Couple, Peter and the Starcatcher, Newsies, 42nd Street, On Golden Pond, Fiddler on the Roof, and the Barn's Radio productions of Sunset Boulevard, and Miracle on 34th Street.     Carly Mazer (Female Swing) is an Actor, Singer, Dancer, and VO Artist based in New York City. She is obsessed with storytelling in all forms! Carly recently graduated from Northwestern University with degrees in Theatre and Psychology, as well as certificates in Musical Theatre and Theatre For Young Audiences. She is beyond thrilled to be performing at the New London Barn this summer, fulfilling a dream of hers since she was a little girl!

    Shane Boucher (Male Swing) is thrilled to be back at the Barn after growing up involved with the Barn’s Education Department. His first appearance on the Barn stage was as a school boy in the 2011 production of Guys & Dolls, under co-choreographers Keith Coughlin and Sarah Case! Shane is a rising junior Musical Theatre major at Florida Southern College. Regional credits include: On Golden Pond, Billy Ray Jr (NLBP); Billy Elliot, Michael/Billy u/s (Wheelock Family Theatre); Oliver!, Dodger (Palace Theatre); Matilda, Adult Ensemble (Northern Stage).
