  • Keith Coughlin (Director) is proud to be a part of another wonderful season, celebrating his 15th summer here at the Barn Playhouse. He has worked as a performer, director, choreographer, and master class teacher across the country.     Bradley Allan Zarr (Choreographer) Bradley is thrilled to make his professional debut as Choreographer at The New London Barn Playhouse with Footloose! National Tours: The Drowsy Chaperone (Robert Martin), Spamalot, Catch Me If You Can, Anything Goes (Assist. Dance Captain), and Susan Stroman's Bullets Over Broadway (Warner Purcell & Dance Captain).     Robbie Cowan (Music Director) returns to the Barn for his 7th season. His many Barn Playhouse productions have earned New Hampshire Theater Awards for Best Production, Best Music Direction, and the prestigious Moss Hart award for Excellence in New England Theater in two consecutive years. He has performed in 49 states (Hawaii remains elusive) on national tours including Bullets Over Broadway, Shrek, Elf, Damn Yankees, and others, as well as at some of the country's best loved regional theaters including Northern Stage and Ogunquit Playhouse. The original comedy revue which he created and produced, 4 Guys Who Sing, premiered at the Barn and has since been seen worldwide aboard luxury cruise ships.     Brad M. Carlson (Scenic Designer) has a BA in Theatre Design/Technology from the University of Northern Iowa and an MFA in Scenic Design from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He is an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Truman State University. Brad serves as the Chair for Region 5 of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. An award winning scenographer, his professional work has taken him to numerous professional theatres including the Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown New York. Brad is excited to be returning for a fifth year at the Barn Playhouse.

    Keith A. Truax (Lighting Designer) is thrilled to be returning to The New London Barn Playhouse for his 5th season “Footloose & Almost Maine”.     Travis A. Sykes (Assistant Costume Designer) is a Costume Manager for the Department of Theatre and Cinema at Radford University in Virginia, where he also pursued his education in Costume Design and Directing. This will be his second time designing for The Barn Playhouse. Travis is very excited to bring the knowledge and experience he has gained from Radford University and Wolf Trap Opera Company back to the New London Barn Playhouse again. Travis would like to thank friends and family who have helped him get where he is today.

    John “JP” Pollard* (Production Stage Manager) joins New London Barn directly from the Musical Theatre West production of SPAMILTON. Other previous credits: An Act of God, starring Sean Hayes (LA/SF), The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in The Universe starring Lily Tomlin (SF), Carrie: The Musical Experience (LA), Jersey Boys - 2nd National Tour, Nice Work If You Can Get It, starring Sally Struthers, and Anything Goes starring Sally Struthers and Andrea McArdle, both at the Ogunquit Playhouse. Previous resident positions: Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ, The Barter Theatre in Abingdon, VA, and Grease - Das Musical touring Germany and Switzerland, Gateway Theatre, Bellport, NY. In a previous lifetime, JP served as personal assistant to Sarah Jessica Parker. Proud Equity member since 1983.

    Molly Raven Hopkins* (Assistant Stage Manager) Select credits include - New York: Into the Woods, The Ally. Regional - Our Town (Shakespeare Theatre Company), The Nutcracker (The Washington Ballet), Shakespeare in Love (Baltimore Center Stage), Jazz (Baltimore Center Stage), Knuffle Bunny: The Cautionary Musical (Adventure MTC). For my Mom, who has always believed in me.

    Michael Lecuyer (Guitar) is a full time professional guitarist and sound engineer. Michael graduated Magna Cum Laude from the UMass-Lowell with bachelor's degree in Music Performance (guitar) and a concentration in Sound Recording Technology, and went on to graduate school at Gordon College (Music Education). He has held teaching positions at Dean College and Northern Essex Community College and is currently the house guitarist at The Seacoast Rep Theater in Portsmouth NH and The Firehouse Theater in Newburyport, MA as well as being a first call performer for many of the region’s top music directors and theaters. He currently owns and operates Playground Closed Studios in Haverhill, MA and performs throughout New England in the “Mike & John Acoustic Duo”.

    Abby Singer-Miller (Bass) is currently at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music pursuing a BM in Bass performance and is extremely excited to be the bassist for The New London Barn Playhouse. She has studied the double bass for nine years, and although she studies classically at the collegiate level, she has found her passion playing in musical pits. She has performed in twenty-one shows on double bass and on the bass guitar, and some of her favorite pit performances have included Newsies, Forty-Second Street, and Trouble in Tahiti! Abby most recently played for Pippin at CCM, and in the summer of 2021, she played for nine musicals with the College Light Opera Company in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, including the world premiere of The Danger Year by Georgia Stitt.

    Gavin Connolly (Drums) Born in Boston and raised in Medfield, Massachusetts, drummer/composer Gavin Connolly began his musical journey at age eight with introductory piano lessons, and quickly began teaching himself the drums at age ten. Throughout his teen years he studied with and was mentored by musicians including Yvonne Wollak, Doug Olsen, Kenny Hadley, and Rakalam Bob Moses. After graduating from Medfield High School in 2017, Gavin attended The New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where he studied with Billy Hart, Cecil McBee, Jerry Leake,and Nasheet Waits. He has also studied with musicians including Royal Hartigan and Jonathan Pinson. Gavin graduated from New England Conservatory in 2021 with academic honors. He has performed with musicians including Doug Olsen, Angel Subero, Javier Rosario, and Chris Mondak in the United States, Canada, and Cuba, and remains an active performer and composer in the Boston area.

    Emily Lombardo (Reeds) is a general music and chorus teacher at Har-Bur Middle School in Region 10 Schools, Burlington, CT. She graduated from Plymouth State University in Plymouth, NH with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and a minor in Spanish. On weekends, she serves as the music director and organist at the Congregational Church of Burlington, CT. She enjoys cooking, being outdoors, and playing gigs on saxophone, flute, clarinet, guitar and piano.

  • Jesse Swimm* (Reverend Shaw Moore) is thrilled to be continuing with New London Barn Playhouse and Footloose after the smash hit run of Mamma Mia! where audiences saw him as Sam Carmichael. Recently Jesse was seen in the World Premiere of Mystic Pizza the Musical at The Ogunquit Playhouse (Priest/Mickey).     Kate Fahey (Ariel) a recent graduate of Penn State Musical Theatre, is so excited to put on her red cowboy boots and make her Barn Playhouse debut! Recent credits include Mae in Lippa’s The Wild Party, Kyle in the premiere of Nostalgia Night, and Anne Egerman in A Little Night Music.     Debra Buckley (Betty Blast/Eleanor) is grateful to be back at the Barn Playhouse for her twelfth season, and fourteenth production. Favorite roles at the Barn Playhouse include Madame Thenardier in Les Miserables, Mrs. Paroo in The Music Man (2004 and 2013), Sister Margaretta in The Sound of Music, Sister Mary Agnes in Over the Pub, Mrs. Webb in Our Town, Mrs. Medlock in The Secret Garden, Harriet Stanley in The Man Who Came to Dinner, and Ruth in Pirates of Penzance (NHTA Best Supporting Actress). In 2010 Debra originated the role of Mrs. Dilber in Joel Mercier’s original musical Christmas Carol: A Musical Ghost Story. Other favorite roles include Jeannette in The Full Monty, The Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz, Reverend Mother in Nuncrackers, and Lucy in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. She has also appeared with both Northern Stage and Artistree Productions. Debra also worked for several years as Administrative Assistant to the Producer for Norman Leger.     Margaret Hunton (Ethel McCormack): Margaret is thrilled to be making her Barn Playhouse debut! Some of her favorite stage credits include Our Town and Mamma Mia! with Northern Stage, Fiddler on the Roof with Artistree, Love, Loss, and What I Wore with Parish Players, and RENT, The Secret Garden, Curtains, Big Fish, Mamma Mia!, and Annie with NCCT.     Scott Sweatt (Coach Dunbar/Cowboy Bob) is grateful to be back at the Barn Playhouse for another summer and elated to be a part of this first summer at the New New London Barn Playhouse thanks to Keith and Elliott!     Lydia Frew (Ensemble) is thrilled to be making her New London Barn Playhouse debut! Lydia is a 2021 graduate of Canada’s National Ballet School where she studied for five years in the Professional Ballet Program as well as on exchange with the Ailey School Professional Division. Lydia grew up in Norwich, VT, performing with Northern Stage, Opera North, and Trumbull Hall Troupe. A rising sophomore at Bates College, Lydia is double majoring in dance and psychology. She is beyond grateful for the opportunity to perform at the Barn Playhouse this summer!

    Shane Boucher (Jeter/Ensemble) is thrilled to be back at the Barn Playhouse after growing up involved with the Barn’s Education Department. His first appearance on the Barn stage was as a school boy in the 2011 production of Guys & Dolls, under co-choreographers Keith Coughlin and Sarah Case! Shane is a rising junior Musical Theatre major at Florida Southern College. Regional credits include: On Golden Pond, Billy Ray Jr (NLBP); Billy Elliot, Michael/Billy u/s (Wheelock Family Theatre); Oliver!, Dodger (Palace Theatre); Matilda, Adult Ensemble (Northern Stage).     Carly Mazer (Ensemble) is an Actor, Singer, Dancer, and VO Artist based in New York City. She is obsessed with storytelling in all forms! Carly recently graduated from Northwestern University with degrees in Theatre and Psychology, as well as certificates in Musical Theatre and Theatre For Young audiences. She is beyond thrilled to be performing at the New London Barn this summer, fulfilling a dream of hers since she was a little girl!
