Updated Mask Policy as of June 25th, 2021 - "Summer Under the Stars"
We are pleased to announce that we will be able to see the enjoyment on your faces as you enjoy live performances under the tent with us this summer for the Barn Playhouse's "Summer Under the Stars." FAQ’S
SEASON INFO
How does the 2021 season calendar work?
The 2021 season is a rotating repertory style - so each show (excluding Always...Patsy Cline) will take place on a different night during the week throughout the summer. For example, if Anything Goes is on a Tuesday night, the following week it may be on Wednesday night. Always...Patsy Cline will be the only performance that will run consecutively during the 2021 season August 25, 2021 to September 5, 2021.
COVID PRECAUTIONS
What safety measures are in place regarding COVID-19?
We have worked closely with the State of New Hampshire and the Governor’s Reopening Task Force to ensure all patrons visiting the tent will be safe. Seating under the tent will be in pods of 4 seats and at a safe distance away from the next pod. Only your party of up to 4 patrons will be seated in one pod unless you request to be seated with another ticket purchaser. Masks must be worn by patrons during their visit to the tent, unless a medical issue prevents you from wearing one. There will also be hand sanitizing stations available.
How many people can sit in a seating pod?
Up to 4 patrons can sit in a seating pod together. If there are less than 4 people in your party, the open chairs will not be filled by any other patrons who are not part of your party. However, again if you would like to sit with another pod and comfortable doing so please contact the Box-Office and we can assist you.
How will the tent be set up?
We have rented a 50 x 90 open-air tent that will be located on the Colby-Sawyer College campus on the field behind Ivey Science Center for the summer. This space will be well-ventilated, with no sides, and socially distanced seating in pods. Because the tent will sit on grass, the ground may be uneven in spots.
Can we have our same seats for each performance?
We will not be taking reservations for specific seating pods for the 2021 season as tickets will be reserved as General Admission. When booking your tickets, patrons could request a certain pod, and the box office will do their best to accommodate, but specific seats are not guaranteed.
ADDITIONAL SEASON INFO
Will the box office at the Barn Playhouse be open for purchasing tickets?
Yes! The regular box office at The Barn Playhouse will be open for purchasing tickets. However, we ask that only one patron comes to the box office window at a time, and both the patron and the employee wear a mask while visiting, unless a medical reason prevents a mask from being worn.
Are there going to be additional shows such as Straw Hat Revue, Spotlight Series, and Children’s Theater Series?
Unfortunately, this season there will not be a Straw Hat Revue or Spotlight Series. We hope to offer a Straw Hat Revue virtually with more details to come! However, the Children's Theater Series will be taking place under the tent and the schedule can be found at nlbarn.org/education.
Can tickets be purchased at the tent?
Unfortunately, due to the seating pods for the summer season, additional tickets can not be purchased after 5PM on the day of a show in order to arrange seating and safety for all patrons. However, patrons can call the box office to check availability closer to the start of the performance.
Where do I park to access the tent?
Parking will be marked at the Main Street entrance to Colby-Sawyer College. From Main Street please turn onto Chargers Rd. Parking is available to patrons in Lot D at the Hogan Center and Lot M at The Davidow Center for Art + Design.
TICKETING INFORMATION
I am a subscriber, does my normal night and seat remain for the 2022 season?
Yes! It is our greatest hope that we will be back in the Barn Playhouse for the 2022 season and your normal seats and night will remain the same as the 2019 season.
What are the ticket options for the 2021 season?
We’re excited to offer 2 different ticket options for the 2021 season! You can purchase a 5-adult ticket bundle and a 5-youth ticket bundle for $175.00/adult and $122.50/youth, over a 12% savings! Single tickets are also available for each performance, adult tickets are $40.00/person, and youth tickets are $28.00/youth.
Is the tent handicapped accessible?
Though the tent is situated on the field behind Ivey Science Center, the ground may be uneven in spots. Once arriving at the tent, the pods are handicapped accessible as well as the tent itself. We ask all patrons to use extra caution when moving about on the lawn.
Are any of the summer performances going to be available through streaming?
We plan to offer many of our summer selections for live "at home" viewing. We are working through the details of this process and more information will be available on our website soon.
Weather Protocol for 2021 Season
Due to the arrangement for this 2021 summer season under the tent, we have created a weather protocol to ensure your safety should unruly weather arrive! Please review the steps for weather safety prior to arriving for a performance.
If the weather on a performance day is rainy, windy, or stormy a call will be made by 5PM whether the show will take place that evening. The call can be found through your email, on our website, and on social media accounts. The Box Office will reach out to patrons the next day to reschedule the missed performance.
If there is a pop-up storm during a performance patrons are asked to safely move into The Davidow Center for Art + Design at Colby Sawyer College. Barn staff and ushers will help patrons move across the field safely.
