A majestically awful opera singer and her long-suffering accompanist take center stage in this hilarious play about the infamous Florence Foster Jenkins, a wealthy New York socialite whose earsplitting singing was matched only by her unconquerable delusions of greatness. A funny and poignant look at artistic passion, the meaning of music, and the true source of beauty in our world.
NOTE: Raymond Sage, one of two members of the cast of Souvenir, has been taken ill and will be unable to perform. Elliott Cunningham will be stepping into the role of Cosme McMoon, performing with script in hand. Elliott is a Barn veteran, most recently seen in last season’s Shrek The Musical and Crazy for You. Music Director Kathleen Castellanos will accompany on piano.
