Education at the Barn
The Barn’s mission to create vibrant theater with young artists in collaboration with professionals also extends to the young people in our community. We firmly believe that an education in the performing arts is incredibly important to young people’s creative and social development. Further, the ability to connect with our community is a cornerstone of the Barn’s long history. For these reasons, we are very happy to offer immersive educational programming.
Education comes in many forms: classes, productions, going to the theater, meeting professionals in the field, and many others. This year, we are very excited to be offering our spring intensive, a summer full of camps, as well as our well-established Junior Intern Company, as ways for young aspiring actors, singers, dancers, writers, and theater artists to get involved in their art, and in our theater. Below are some of are current and upcoming offerings.
Junior Intern Program
The Junior Intern Company is comprised of 30 young performers aged 12-18 who, over the course of nine weeks, rehearse, build and perform plays and musicals for young audiences.

Each summer, we offer five weeks of camps, Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM or 1:00 PM-4:00 PM. Each week will have opportunities for children ranging from age 6 to 11, and will culminate in a performance for family and friends. Camps are taught by a combination of Barn staff, members of the Acting Company, and professional guest artists! Check back in February for an announcement of our Summer 2019 lineup!
