This summer the Barn will be offering five weeks of camps, from July 9th through August 10th. Each week offers opportunities for children ranging from age 6 to 11; each class will culminate in a performance on the Barn stage. Camps are taught by Barn staff, members of the Acting Intern Company, and professional guest artists. We look forward to having your family join us this summer!
Camps are held Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM or 1:00 PM-4:00 PM.
Full-Day options: In weeks 2, 3, and 4, we have morning and afternoon options for all campers. Those who want to spend the whole day working on their theatrical talents can sign up for both morning and afternoon options, and pay a reduced “full day” price for both camps. Students will stay from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM with a supervised break from 12:00 – 1:00 PM for lunch (not provided).

Half-Day Camper: $175.00 per week
Full-Day Camper: $300.00 per week (available weeks 2-4 ONLY)

SUMMER 2018 CAMPS
Broadway of Today: July 9-13
This week is all about celebrating today’s best musicals!
This camp opens the doors to the world of musical theater with songs themed around growing up, finding our place in the world, and what it means to be a legend!
Musical theater isn’t about kick lines and jazz hands – it can really rock your socks off! This camp will feature selections from popular rock musicals.
Theater Through the Years: July 16-20
This week pays tribute to the shows that shaped the world of musical theater!
A returning favorite! This camp teaches our youngest performers acting, singing, and dancing with Broadway’s most beloved musicals.
Shakespeare in space! The Bard on a the beach! We’ll take this classic playwright to wacky new frontiers and visit the Junior Intern Company as they rehearse Love’s Labour’s Lost!
This camp offers performers of all experience levels a chance to dance in the style of Broadway musicals!
HEROES vs VILLAINS: July 23-27
This week good and evil will face off in a Broadway battle of epic proportions!
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s an ogre? This camp will teach young actors how to play BIG characters by working on scenes and stories that celebrate theater’s biggest (and sometimes unsung) heroes! This camp includes a field trip to see a performance of Giants in the Sky performed by the Barn’s very own Junior Intern Company!
Villains may get a bad rap, but they have the BEST songs! Students in this camp will learn showstoppers sung by Broadway’s most sinister villains.
Back by popular demand! This camp is perfect for those who want to learn about everything that goes into creating the magical world of theater. Campers will have the opportunity to work on a variety of technical theater projects and even take a backstage tour of the Barn!
Under the Big Top: July 30 – August 3
Sensational circus camps to prepare you to rock the center ring!
Step right up! Our youngest performers will dazzle and delight in Broadway’s best circus-themed musicals!
Come one, come all — there’s magnificent fun to be had as we learn songs from theater’s favorite carnivals and cabarets!
Prepare to be amazed! This camp returns to offer young performers an introduction to a variety of circus skills, including acrobatics, miming, spinning plates, juggling, magic tricks, and more!
All the World’s a Stage: August 6-10
This camp week is a multicultural celebration!
Our youngest campers will embark on an worldwide adventure by learning songs from musicals that feature countries from around the world!
This camp will allow young performers to experience international cultures and languages through songs from musicals that celebrate a global perspective.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
There are two ways to enroll your child in a Barn summer camp:
1) ONLINE: To register and pay for a camp online, click on one of the “Register Online” links in the camp descriptions above. You can add more camps by clicking “Continue Shopping” and scrolling through the calendar. Alternatively, click here for the full calendar of camp offerings. *Please note: a $3.50 per camp fee will be charged for each online camp registration placed. This fee is imposed by and goes directly to our ticketing software company.
2) BY MAIL: To register and pay by mail, please click here to download the paper registration form. You can print this form, fill out and return it with a check to the address below. Checks should be made out to New London Barn Playhouse; please note the full name of your child and the name of the camp in the “memo” section. If paying for multiple children, please note that as well.
*RELEASE FORM: Every camper must also submit a completed release form (download form here). This can be brought to the first day of class, mailed to the address below, or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will also have copies available on the first day of the session.

PLEASE NOTE: Enrollment is only guaranteed with tuition payment. Subject to availability, it may sometimes be possible to temporarily hold a spot in a camp for your child if you are not yet 100% sure of your plans. Additionally, a tuition forgiveness policy exists for all our education programs. Please email Camps Director Kayla May at email@example.com to discuss this possibility and for more information.
CLASS LOCATION & DIRECTIONS
All camps are held at the New London Outing Club’s Indoor Center at 114 Cougar Court. If you drive south down Main Street, passing the Barn Playhouse on your right, you need to go to the main stop light in town (Pleasant Street, at the Library and Lake Sunapee Bank), and turn left. After two buildings, turn left again onto Cougar Court. Pass the Elementary School on your right, and the second building houses the Outing Club. Please go in the main entrance to meet the instructors and Education staff in the lobby. Camps will be held in the gym, the Music Room behind the gym, and the second classroom on the left down the main hallway.
